1. University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) Established in 1906 (105 years ago) by a mission, the school was built in the European style. There are about 25,000 students and teachers in total (including masters and doctors) and 20 academies. Communication and Art Design College was established in 2003 and is now developing very fast within the university !

2. Shanghai Publishing and Printing College (SPPC) Established in 1953, it’s the FIRST printing school in the new China and it has been focusing on printing and publishing since the very beginning. With about 5,000 students and teachers, this famous school has provided many professors to the country. It’s main concern is the operational skills of the Chinese printers.

Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU)

3. Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU) Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU) is a key teaching and research oriented university in the Zhejiang Province with its own distinctive programs in electronic science and technology as well as business management. The precursor of HDU was the Hangzhou Aviation Industrial Finance and Economics School, which was founded in 1956. The university has over 26,000 students in 14 colleges.

Hunan University of Technology

4. Hunan University of Technology Established in 1979 with 35,000 students and teachers for 16 different academies. Packaging is the unique feature of the school. The school is an important member of IAPRI in China, as well as of the ministry of education of packaging teaching steering committee and of the China packaging technology training center.

Zhejiang Industry and Trade Vocational College (ZJITC)

5. Zhejiang Industry and Trade Vocational College (ZJITC) Established in 1960 with about 10,000 students and teachers, it’s the best vocational college of the Zhejiang province, as well as the base of vocational operators all around China. The college also works in cooperation with other schools in China and Europe to improve student training.

Qufu Normal University

6. Qufu Normal University Qufu Normal University is one of the key university in the Shandong Province. It is located in Qufu, the hometown of Confucius----the great philosopher, educator and the creator of Confucianism. It was founded in 1955 and has about 30,000 students and teachers in total. It has trained and provided more than 160,000 qualified graduates to the country and is thus an important contributor to the Chinese economic development.

Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC)

7. Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) It started from the Department of Printing in Culture Institute affiliated to the Ministry of Culture in 1958 and laid the foundation of China’s higher education in printing. There are about 8,000 students and teachers in total. Based in Beijing to serve the nation, BIGC carries on the responsibility of producing high level professionals for media and communication industries such as printing, packaging, and publishing. It is among the first batch of institutions that were granted the rights to confer bachelor’s degrees in China.


School of Graphic Communications Management, Ryerson University

The School of Graphic Communications Management is the only four-year university program in Canada. The Bachelor degree program offers courses in pre-media, printing processes, post-press and management studies to over 400 undergraduate students. The School is housed in the modern Heidelberg Centre and is equipped with state-of-the-art labs and lecture facilities.

This is the second time the School is participating in the SHOTS contest.

Ryerson offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate programs. Culturally diverse and inclusive, the university is home to 28,000 students, including 2,300 master’s and PhD students, nearly 2,700 faculty and staff, and more than 140,000 alumni worldwide.
